Gardening Workshop – Chickens in the Garden

Chickens are a wonderful addition to any garden because they provide eggs, wonderful fertilizer, and lots of company! Learn the ins and outs of housing, feeding, and tending chickens, and meet a couple of the ladies (hens).

Ever think about visiting a rainforest habitat? There are so many species of plants and animals to learn about from the rainforests. Come take a trek to learn more about these amazing forests.
Gardening Workshop – Spring Flowering Bulbs

It seems untimely, but now is the best time to order spring flowering bulbs for planting in October. Let's learn about the different types of bulbs from the usual favorites such as Daffodils and Tulips to the so-called minor bulbs, including Snowdrops, Siberian Squill and more.
Gardening Workshop – Gardening in Small Spaces

Thursday, August 7, 7pm
Grow bags and raised beds provide a way to have a garden when space is limited, or if your soil is not good for growing flowers and vegetables. We will explore some of the possibilities for gardening in raised beds as well as using grow bags on patios, balconies and other small spaces.

Without the rain there would be no rainbow. All types of weather are very important to the environment. Rain, sun, snow, and wind each play their own part in making our Earth beautiful. Come on an adventure of different weather to explore.
Gardening Workshop – Seed Saving and Food Preservation

Thursday, September 18, 7pm
As the growing season comes to a close, it’s time to store what you can for the winter months and save seeds to grow next year. We’ll discuss some techniques including roasting peppers, saving tomato seeds, and curing squash and onions.

Gardening Workshop – Succession Planting

Wednesday, June 18, 7pm
By now, the garden is in, but do you still have the urge to sow more seed? I sure do! Learn how to extend the harvest by sowing and planting in succession. We will discuss easy re-sowers, such as bush beans and lettuce, and also take a look at tomatoes, peas, broccoli and more which can also offer fresh picking into the fall months and less money spent at the grocery store.
